Bgen – the Botanic Gardens Education Network – is seeking a new Trustee to join our Board.
This is a voluntary position offering a rewarding opportunity to help shape the direction of a small but growing charity that supports plant and environmental education professionals across the UK and beyond.
As a Bgen Trustee, you’ll play an active role in guiding our work and supporting our mission to connect people and plants through creative education, training and collaboration. You’ll join a friendly, engaged Board that works across four key workstreams: Governance, Treasury, Communications & Membership, and Conference & Training.
We’re particularly keen to hear from applicants with expertise in Governance, Communications & Membership, or Grant Writing & Fundraising, though we welcome interest from anyone passionate about Bgen’s mission.

💻 About the Role
Home-based with online meetings (4–6 Board meetings per year)
Additional workstream meetings (approx. 4 per year)
Approx. 2–3 days commitment per quarter
Three-year term (renewable once)
This role is ideal for anyone wanting to contribute to the success of a national network at a key moment in its development.
