Building capacity: teacher and student teacher training

Tuesday 15th September 2015 at RHS Garden Harlow Carr, Harrogate

UNFORTUNATELY THIS EVENT HAS HAD TO BE POSTPONED BUT WE HOPE TO RUN IT IN 2016 – DO REGISTER YOUR INTEREST WITH THE BGEN COORDINATOR AND A NEW DATE WILL BE SENT TO YOU WHEN RESCHEDULED.

Running CPD programmes is both exciting and profitable, however it can also be challenging. This workshop will use case studies to showcase how a number of organisations have tackled setting up and delivering CPD, with examples from primary,  secondary and tertiary sector programmes.

You will get to try out a number of the activities used to engage teachers during these sessions and will also have an opportunity to share views on the delivery and evaluation of the various programmes through a panel discussion. Add to this a ‘Betty’s’ lunch bag in the wonderful surroundings of Harlow Carr and you can’t fail to have a good day!

RHS Harlow Carr in the Autumn

RHS Garden Harlow Carr in Yorkshire covers 27.5 hectares (68 acres). Set in a valley and very much a part of the Yorkshire countryside, the garden has a wide variety of growing landscapes, from running and still water to woodland and wildflower meadows. Acidic soil affords a fabulous environment for rhododendrons and Himalayan blue poppies, while visitors can be inspired if they have to contend with similar weather conditions – cold, drying winter winds, deep frosts, a cooler, shorter growing season and lots of wet weather.

Workshop details:
  • Bgen member: £70
  • Concession: £40
  • Non member (includes 1 year bgen membership): £98

Please see Workshop Programme for more details and email your Booking Form to  info@bgen.org.uk to secure your place.
