SALARY: £28,098-£33,518
LOCATION: Sainsbury Laboratory, Cambridge
CONTRACT: Fixed Term
CLOSING DATE: 22 April 2018

The Gatsby Plant Science Education Programme, based at the Sainsbury Laboratory Cambridge University, is looking for a dynamic Project Coordinator to coordinate the Science and Plants for Schools (SAPS) project.

SAPS aims to increase enthusiasm and appreciation of plant sciences in school and college students of all ages though supporting their science teachers and technicians in delivering relevant and engaging plant science lessons. Primarily reaching this audience through our longstanding website, this role will also develop a network of enthusiastic teacher and technician ambassadors to deliver training on SAPS resources across the UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating events for teachers, technicians and teacher trainers, managing and monitoring interactions with this audience across the UK, commissioning marketing material, maintaining the website, preparing email campaigns, overseeing our social media channels and providing financial and administrative support across the team. The ability to proactively prioritise workloads and work to tight deadlines is essential for the role.

The role holder will join a friendly team of four and will work alongside a Project Manager to deliver elements of the SAPS project. Candidates will need to be comfortable and confident representing the programme to scientists, teachers and students from across the UK, with excellent communication skills. They will be expected to be able to work away from home for key events including the Association for Science Education annual conference (January) and the Gatsby Plant Science Summer School (early July) and some evening working will occasionally be required.
