Bedgebury National Pinetum, Forestry Commission

Bedgebury National Pinetum in Kent is part of the Forestry Commission’s National Arboreta. The National Pinetum is home to the largest and most complete conifer collection in the world, and is one of a handful of international botanic gardens which focus specifically on conifers. It is unique in the UK and has a global reach, working in partnership with other organisations to carry out tree conservation across the world.

The National Pinetum is surrounded by Bedgebury Forest, a forest environment which has been developed for healthy, outdoor activities such as cycling, walking, adventure play and Go Ape high wire adventure. These two elements, pinetum and forest, combine to make Bedgebury one of the Forestry Commission’s most unusual and award winning recreation and heritage sites.

Bedgebury’s learning team offer  a range of opportunities, including self-led resources, staff-led schools programmes and family events, which gives children and families the chance to discover the pinetum, its work and its trees.
