The Royal Horticultural Society aims to enrich everyone’s life through plants, and make the UK a greener and more beautiful place. Best known for our world famous Flower Shows and Gardens, we also connect millions of children with nature through the RHS Campaign for School Gardening, support community gardening through RHS Britain in Bloom and conduct pioneering horticultural scientific research. We believe everyone should benefit from growing plants to build stronger, healthier and happier communities.
We have been working in Bristol and neighbouring counties to support schools and community groups with horticultural inspiration and advice since 2014.
We are looking for a Community Outreach Advisor to take this work forward whilst our current Advisor is on maternity leave. This exciting opportunity will enable you develop projects and partnerships with the local community to support a wide variety of people to develop their gardening skills and transform spaces where they live. If you have a passion for the power of horticulture to grow people and places, then we want to hear from you.
You will know your plants, with minimum of a Level 2 qualification in practical horticulture, and have experience developing and delivering training and community projects. You will be used to working with diverse audience groups, be creative and driven to make local change.
